Pennsylvania Team Rankings Updated

This week's Prep Baseball State Rankings for Pennsylvania have been expanded from the top 25 teams in the state. No teams which appeared in last week's rankings fell completely out of the poll, but there was considerable movement that took place.

Nothing has changed at the top. The No. 1 ranked team in the state continues to be the Norwin Knights.  Norwin has gotten consistent pitching and explosive offense to run its record to a perfect 15-0.  Close behind is District 7 foe Bethel Park (14-2).  While not as dynamic offensively, Bethel Park has shown the ability all season to win tight ball games, which bodes well for them come playoff time.

Fresh off its 4-1 win over Hopewell on Wednesday, Blackhawk (16-2) makes the jump to No. 3 this week.  The move displaces Hopewell (16-2) and drops them to No. 4, one spot lower than last week.

Three other teams in this week's rankings remain perfect on the season and look to finish the regular season unblemished.  South Williamsport (13-0), Saegertown (16-0) and new to the rankings this week California (14-0) are all on a quest to finish the regular season undefeated.

Teams which enter the rankings for the first time this week are No. 8 Seneca Valley, No. 17 Hempfield, No. 20 California, No. 23 Central Bucks West and No. 24 Lancaster Catholic.

No. 7 Malvern Prep and No. 13 Penn Charter continue to play well but are not eligible to participate in the PIAA playoffs. They will both be contenders for the Independent School state title.
