With the regular season for high school baseball across the state coming to a close Bridgeport catcher Drew Hefner has put together an impressive year for the defending AA state champions.
Hefner, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound left-handed hitter, leads the Indians in hits (33) and is second on the team in RBI (23) while hitting at a .429 clip. The junior, ranked No. 6 in the WV Class of 2017, has walked 13 times while only being retired on strikes three times.
Hefner shined at the 2015 WV Top Prospect Games and will once again be showcasing his talents at the 2016 event in early June.
