The Mississippi High School Baseball season entered the second round of playoff games, with several big matchups taking place around the state. After two rounds of playoff competition (and several teams playing Game 3 today) only one team from the Power 25 has been elminated as the top of the list stays the same, although we can expect some big shakeups as we move forward.

+ Gulfport continues to have success as they defeat Pascagoula in the second round of the 6A playoff. In the 3^rd round the Admirals of Gulfport will play a three game series versus a solid Oak Grove team.

+ The West Lauderdale Knights win game one of the series 8-0 and drop game two 1-0 and will host the rubber match game tonight versus a talented Sumrall team.

+ Madison Central sweeps the series versus Warren Central 7-0 and 6-1. The Jaguars of Madison Central will square off against the Oxford Chargers in round three.

+ Hattiesburg defeats Wayne County in two games 10-0 and 8-3. The Tigers of Hattiesburg will play the South Jones Braves in round three.

+ The Oxford Chargers sweeps series versus Southaven 3-2 and 9-6.

+ The Pearl River Central Blue Devils defeat West Harrison 4-2 and 7-4 and will host a young West Jones team in round three that has only dropped two games all season.

+ Ripley falls in game one of the series 5-3 but are victorious in game two 7-2. Deciding game three today.

+ Lewisburg continues to play well as the defeat Saltillo 6-4 and 5-2.

+ After claiming an 8-5 victory in game one, Seminary drops game two 14-13 to a young Magee squad. The two team face off today in a deciding game three matchup.

+ Taylorsville advances to third round as they defeat No. 23 Loyd Star 12-7 and 4-3.
