POWER 25 WEEK NINE REVIEW 

Multiple upsets took place this week as lower-ranked and unranked teams alike beat top opponents. As Los Angeles regular season baseball ends this week, it signifies the start to the end of another great season of high school baseball. Both San Diego and Bay Area teams are playing games well into May. Take a look at all the action inside the Power 25 last week.

No. 1 Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks)

Notre Dame holds a 23-2 record after a league sweep of three games this past week. Their final three games in the regular season are against league opponents this week.

No. 2 Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach split their two games this week bringing their record to 18-8. Their final two games of the season are against league opponents, Los Alamitos on Tuesday and Thursday.

No. 3 Santa Margarita

Santa Margarita swept league opponent Mater Dei in three games. In a non-league matchup vs. former top-five regular Villa Park, they lost in extra innings bringing their record to 19-6. They have three league games this week to close their season.

No. 4 Valley Christian (San Jose)

Valley Christian went 3-0 this week, their record arrived at 19-3 after a game on Saturday. They have three games this week.

No. 5 Aquinas

Aquinas swept all five of their games this week, boosting their record to 20-4. They finish the season with four league games this week.

No. 6 Corona

Corona went 2-1 against league opponent Santiago. In their Saturday matchup vs. No. 8 Etiwanda they won 11-2 bringing their record to 18-7. They close the regular season with a three-game series vs. Centennial.

No. 7 Whitney

Whitney won two and lost one in an upset to league opponent Rocklin. They enter this week with a 17-4 record with four games.

No. 8 Etiwanda

Etiwanda won their league series but dropped one game in the process, on Saturday against No. 6 Corona they lost. Their record sits at 15-7 as they head into their final week of baseball with a three-game league series.

No. 9 JSerra

In four games this past week, JSerra went 3-0 bringing their record to 16-8. They face off against No. 17 Orange Lutheran in each team’s last three games.

No. 10 Cardinal Newman

Cardinal Newman continues to add to their undefeated record as they now sit at 19-0 after two wins this past week. They have two games this week.

No. 11 Gahr

Gahr dropped 2 games this week in upsets. Their record now sits at 20-4-1 as they prepare to face off against La Mirada this week to close the season.

No. 12 La Costa Canyon

La Costa Canyon lost in a 3-2 game on Friday ending 2-1 in the total series and tallying up at 16-3. They have three games this week.

No. 13 Bonita

Bonita won three games this past week, only giving up one run over all three. Their record stands at 15-4 with two games this week.

No. 14 Franklin (Elk Grove)

Franklin continues their dominant season with 15-2, 11-0, and 11-1 victories this past week. They have three games this week and currently hold a 21-4 record.

No. 15 South Hills

South Hills sit at 18-6 after going 2-1 this week. They have two games on Wednesday and Friday to close their regular season.

No. 16 De La Salle

De La Salle’s record sits at 16-4 after going 3-0 this past week. They picked up a win vs. No. 23 Granada on Wednesday. They have two games this week.

No. 17 Orange Lutheran

Orange Lutheran currently holds a 16-8-1 record after winning three games. They face off against No. 9 JSerra this week in a three-game series.

No. 18 Harvard Westlake

Harvard Westlake brought their record to 18-7 after a three-game sweep. They have three league games to close out the season.

No. 19 Archbishop Mitty

Archbishop went 3-0 on the week to bring their record to 18-4. They have two games this week including a Friday showdown vs. No. 24 Bellarmine.

No. 20 Bullard

Bullard’s record sits at 16-3 as they won both of their games this past week. They have two games this week.

No. 21 Eastlake

Eastlake scored 25 runs over two games in two victories this past week. They hold a 17-2 record and will face league opponents twice this week.

No. 22 Cypress

Cypress won two this week bringing their record to 20-6 on the season. They have two games this week.

No. 23 Granada

Granada’s record sits at 15-4 after dropping a game to No. 16 De La Salle. They have three games this week.

No. 24 Bellarmine

Bellarmine went 1-2 on the week with their season record arriving at 13-7-1. They have two games this week with a game on Friday vs. No. 19 Archbishop Mitty.

No. 25 Hollister

Hollister’s record sits at 16-2 after a three-win week. They have another three games this week.
