Q & A with Eastern Kentucky Commit Taylor Blair



PBR: Why did you choose Eastern Kentucky University?

Blair: I wanted to go to a school in state, and it seemed like I would fit into the program well. 

PBR: What other schools were you considering?    

Blair: Ball state, Xavier, Morehead state. 

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you play?

Blair: At a baseball tournament for Kentucky baseball club when I was 16. 

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play throughout your first year?

Blair: They expect me to come in and make an impact in the outfield right away, and come out of the bullpen for pitching. 

PBR: What would you consider your biggest strength as a player?

Blair: Consistency 

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on your career as a baseball player?

Blair: My dad. He played professionally for 12 years, and he has coached me through the years. 

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer?   

Blair: Kentucky Baseball Club 

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment? 

Blair: Winning "All A" state. 

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in the state of Kentucky?

Blair: Ryne Combs

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter you have pitched against in Kentucky?

Blair: Jimmy Wright 

PBR: What are your goals for your senior season at Lexington Christian Academy?

Blair: To get better than last year overall. Be a better leader. Win state.
