Name: Nick Bottari
High School: Montverde Academy, FL (Shoreham Wading River NY 2011-2013)
College Commitment: Miami
Position: C / 3B / 1B

PBR New York sat down with Nick Bottari who transferred from NY to Montverde Academy in Florida, for a question and answer session.

*Nick transferred to Montverde Academy, a prep school in Florida to prepare himself as best he could for entering college. He spent his 9th-11th grade at Shoreham Wading River, NY where he was a standout.

PBR: How did you prepare for the 2014 season?

Bottari: I worked out with my trainer at Infiniti Performance and hit with my dad and hitting coach Keith Osik all winter.

PBR: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?

Bottari: My strengths are my ability to make small adjustments to my swing. Weaknesses in the game would be that I need to do a better job of staying with my approach and also trying to hit the ball to the right center gap.

PBR: Who is one of the better players you have seen this year?

Bottari: Nick Gordon from Olympia

PBR: You are headed to the U of Miami, tell us what made you come to that choice?

Bottari: I picked the U of Miami because the coaches and I have a great relationship and I can provide the team with what they need offensively and defensively.

PBR: Tell us a fun fact about yourself other people might not know.

Bottari: In 2008 my New York Outlaws team won a tournament at Cooperstown.

Buzz on Bottari - New York Scouting Director, Dan Cevette
Bottari is head to the ACC after his senior campaign to the U of Miami. Bottari is a good sized kid that will develop nicely under the watchful eye of the Miami staff. At the plate he shows extremely quick hands to the baseball with a very quiet front side. At first base he moves around the bag with good instincts well, projects as a corner guy at the next level.
