PBR: Why did you choose the University of Pittsburgh?
Campbell: The school has an excellent academic record and strong baseball program. I honestly made a connection with the pitching coach, Coach Oakes when I visited and attended their camp over fall break.
PBR: Where did Pitt first see you compete?
Campbell: Coach Lopaze saw me at the WWBA Underclass World Championship in Ft. Myers, FL in October when I was playing for my fall team, the Giants Scout team.
PBR: What other schools did you consider?
Campbell: Louisville, Stanford, Butler, Indiana, Wake Forest
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play during your first year on campus?
Campbell: I'm not entirely sure but think to be 1st or 2nd out of bullpen and maybe work towards closing.
PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what was your most memorable experience during summer ball?
Campbell: I play for the Indiana Mustangs. Going to Atlanta for a week was the most memorable part.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Campbell: Jay Lehr, my pitching coach has definitely done the most for me as a player.
PBR: Heading into your junior year at Carmel, what are your goals individually and as a team?
Campbell: Individually, I want to be able to maintain a low ERA. As a team, I hope for us to make it far in the State Tournament.
PBR: What aspect of your game do you believe needs the most improvement?
Campbell: I would like to improve my off speed pitches.
PBR: What were your 2012 stats at Carmel?
