Q and A with Salem International Commit: Nicco Lollio (Carleton Airport HS)

PBR:  Where have you decided to attend college and why did you make this choice?
Lollio: I have decided to attend Salem International University because I feel it was the best fit for me.

PBR:  What other schools were you considering?
Lollio: I was considering Mott community college but didn't get an offer.

PBR:  Was distance from home a factor in your decision?
Lollio: Distance from home really didn't play a factor in my decision.

PBR:  Where did the coaches first see you?  How did your
relationship develop with their coaching staff?
Lollio: I believe Coach Hill saw my recruiting profile and videos on the internet. We e-mailed back and forth for a while and then I went on a visit and got to meet the team.

PBR:  What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Lollio: Coach Hill expects me to be a utility player for him next year and hit the ball.

PBR:  What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help your team?
Lollio: I am a hard worker and will do what I am asked. If everyone can buy in and work hard as a team I think we can win some ball games next year.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most memorable experience from this past summer?
Lollio: I now play for Ida Legion post 514, but last year I played for the Motor City Mafia. My most memorable moment of last summer was the home run I hit in a tournament in Imlay city, it was the hardest ball I hit in my entire life.

PBR:  Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?
Lollio:  With my commitment out of the way I would like to go far in the state tourney and just be an asset to my team. I want to be that guy that you can count on in a clutch situation.
