Q&A With Unsigned Senior 3B/1B Michael Bibbs (Seckman)

Michael Bibbs (Seckman, 2014) is a 6-foot-5 195-pound left-hand hitting 1B/3B.  He batted .364 last year with a .446 slugging percentage and 40 RBI.  He led the Jaguars to a 19-8 record and a district championship.  Bibbs is ready for the 2014 season and looks to lead Seckman deeper into the state playoffs.  Here is what Bibbs has going now

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Bibbs: Many schools are interested including, Ohio University, University of Iowa, Kansas State University, Wichita State University, Creighton University, Alabama State University, University of Arkansas-Little Rock, University of California-Santa Barbara, Mercer University, Marshall University, Elon University, and Michigan State University,

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Bibbs: No i have not currently visited, however i have scheduled one visit to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M two weeks from now, and am in the works with scheduling a visit to Olivet Nazarene

PBR:  Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Bibbs: I am looking for a school with a highly acclaimed Business department, I am looking to major in Accounting and minor in Sports Management, or maybe the other way around. Distance is not an issue for me, but may be for my family. I am looking for the school with everything in the best interest for myself.

 PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Bibbs: My Junior year stats were (Summer and School combined) :GP-62 GS-61 AB-188 Runs-14 Hits-60 2B - 15 3B- 1 HR-0 RBI-40 BB-17 K-19 SB-2 CS-3 BA-.364 OBP-.450 SLG-.446 OPS-.896 (School Only)- GP-27 GS-26 BA-.378 OBP-.465 SLG-459 PA-87 AB-74 R-13 H-28 1B-23 2B-4 3B-1 HR-0 RBI-16 BB-7 K-9 HBP-5. My Team, (Seckman Jaguars) went 19-8 (3-4) and won the Class 5 District 1 Championship in Missouri. We lost to Vianney 6-1 in Sectionals. I also won 2nd Team All-Conference First Basemen (Suburban South Conference)

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Bibbs: My Goals for my Senior season are to take my team to the State playoffs for the first time in school history, improve my XBH and HR with my weight training in the offseason, and to win Suburban South Conference Player of the Year.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Bibbs: I play for the Rawlings Recruits 18U in the summer, and we had a fall team as well.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Bibbs: No, but i did play soccer and roller hockey.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Bibbs: My composite ACT is 20, and best on all individual tests is a 21. My GPA is 3.71 on a 4 Point scale.
