SC Summer Kickoff I.D. - Quick Hits

Coleman Kelly (OF/1B, West Florence, 2022) - turned in a consistent round of BP consistently hitting balls sharply on the barrel. Used a middle/middle approach with line drive contact. Proportional build has some upside.

Caleb Costa (RHP, Oceanside Collegiate, 2022) - RHP with a full frame and an OTT arm slot. Rode the FB up to 86 with consistent location in the zone. Developing feel for offspeed with flashes of nice CH present.

Layton Dickerson (LHP, Palmetto, 2022) - Smaller profile with a slender build. Quick arm for his size. FB was 76-77. Impressive breaking ball at 64-65, with big downer action. CB's registered 2500-2600 rpm via Trackman.

Kyle Murphy (C, South Pointe, 2022) - Strong build, powerful frame. Solid defender will continue to improve with maturity. Low line drive approach with feel for the barrel.

Andrew Brandon (OF, Andrews, 2021) - Athletic 6-0 frame with flashes of twitch. Line drive/ground ball approach. Raw ability, athleticism gives him some upside. 89.8 and 90.1 mph line drives were his best Trackman swings.

Rusty Chappell (1B/RHP, Abbeville, 2022) - 6-0, 190lbs full frame. Inside out approach with consistent line drive/ground ball contact to the opposite field. Low 3Q arm slot on the mound produced between 14-16 inches of horizontal movement.

Marshall Carnahan (C, River Bluff, 2022)  - Solid behind the dish with consistent exchanges and confident hands. Aggressive cuts at the plate, line drive contact in the middle of the field. Will benefit from additional development physically.

Hayden Jennings (C, Pope John Paul II, 2021) - showed off a flatter bat path with the ability to stay on plane and drive balls in the gaps. Put up several 88+ exit velocities on the Trackman unit during BP including a top EV of 91.3. Solid defender with good present strength.

Brooks Mauro (SS, Daniel, 2022) - Long limbs and projectable build. Still on the front end of his physical development. Event top exit velo of 93.3 during his BP round. Feel for the barrel and quick hands.
