Scouting Team Pennsylvania: The Outfielders

The roster for Team Pennsylvania will carry just three primary outfielders with a number of other players likely to see action there as well.

Luca Farina heads this group. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound switch hitter from Central Catholic HS just returned from a national showcase event where he was clocked at 89 mph from the outfield and 86 mph off the mound. Farina ran a 7.14 60 yard dash at the event and projects as a corner outfielder at the next level.

Shane Connahan, a 6-foot-0, 165-pound, left handed hitting outfielder from Midd-West HS, was offered a spot on the roster after his performance at the Eastern PA Top Prospect Showcase on June 14. Connahan impressed with the best round of batting practice at the event, spraying line drives around the park with gap power. Connahan is a two time Heartland Conference First Team All-Star selection in his high school career.

Cody Bain, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound, right handed hitting outfielder from Blackhawk HS, was offered a spot on the roster after his performance at the Western PA Top Prospect Showcase on June 13. Bain impressed with his all-around abilities. Bain had one of the top bat exit speed velocities of the day at 81 mph. During his offensive evaluation, Bain showed a live bat with good pop as he drove balls to all fields.
