Sectional 2 – Champ: Valpo

Valpo 18 Portage 8

Sectional 3 – Champ: Penn

Penn 9 SB Clay 3 – Chad Whitmer got the win throwing five innings of no hit baseball with six strikeouts. Jordan Gosztola had a double, triple, and two RBI in the win.

Mishawaka 3 SB Washington 2 – Danny Eggleston doubled and drove in two runs in the win, including what turned out to be the game winning run.

Penn 7 Mishawaka 6 F/9 – Caleb Birkey drew a one out walk in the 8th. He advance to second on a wild pitch, to third on a passed ball, and scored on another passed ball to win the game. Casey Demonia hit a two run homerun for Mishawaka in the second to give the a 2-1 lead. Down 3-1 in the third Penn brought five runs across the plate, highlighted by a Chad Whitmer two run single, he finished with three RBI in the game. 

Sectional 4 – Champ: Elkhart Central

Concord 15 Warsaw 5 – Matt Kotva had a big day with three hits, including a double and a homerun, five RBI, and three runs scored. Nick DeFreese added two RBI and three runs and Nick Wysong had three hits.

Elkhart Central 8 Elkhart Memorial 2 – Tanner Tully got the win throwing five innings, allowing two hits, and striking out ten. Cory Malcom and Jack Bernacchi each had three hits, Malcom had a solo homerun. Kaleb DeFreese had two hits and two RBI and Austin McArt and Ronnie Hawkins both tripled and drove in a run.

Elkhart Central 12 Concord 1 – Riley Futterknecht threw all six innings to get the win striking out eight. Elkhart put up five runs in the first highlighted by RBI singles from Jack Bernacchi, Adam Raifsnider, and Ronnie Hawkins. In the third they added three more from RBI doubles by Hawkins and Kaleb DeFreese and a Tanner Tully RBI single. Bernacchi had three hits, one for a double, and two RBI, DeFreese had three hits, one for a double, and drove in a run, and Matt Eppers had two hits. 

Sectional 5 – Champ: Carroll

Carroll 9 East Noble 1 – Peyton Lengacher picked up the win allowing four hits, one run, and striking out nine in seven innings of work. Drue Tranquill and Grant Wilson each went 2-4 with a RBI and a run scored and Matt was was 2-4 with two RBI.

Columbia City 13 DeKalb 2

Carroll 13 Columbia City 2 – Blake Converset picked up the five inning win allowing five hits, two runs, and striking out four. Drue Tranquill was 3-4 with two doubles, a triples, three RBI, and three runs to lead the offense. Cody Chase was 2-3 with a double, three RBI, and a run. Ross Koble hit a solo homerun, Grant Wilson was 2-4 with a homerun, RBI, and three runs, and Peyton Lengacher and Tanner Ginner both went 2-3.

FW Southside 4 Homestead 1 – See Story

Sectional 7 – Champ: McCutcheon

Laf. Harrison 4 Lafayette Jeff 3 – Michael Carnahan had a big game. On the mound he got the win going six innings, allowing seven hits, two earned runs, and striking out nine. At the plate he was 2-3 with a double, homerun, and four RBI.

McCutcheon 4 Logansport 0 – Justin Curry threw a complete game no hitter striking out 10. He retired the last 14 batters he faced.

McCutcheon 7 Harrison 0 – Chrsitian Vukas threw a complete game two hitter striking out 10 in the win. Vukas also drove in a run and walked three times at the plate. Austin Kiracofe doubled and drove in two, Justin Curry was 2-4 with a run, and Cody Strong, Jordan Young, and Henry Gray each drove in a run.

Brownsburg 15 Perry Meridian 5 – Isaac Sampen had a big game at the plate going 3-3 with two homeruns, five RBI, and four runs scored. John Moore was 2-3 with a triple, two RBI, and three runs, Bobby Carr doubled and drove in two, and Michael Harnagel was 2-4 with a solo homerun. Jordan Deal threw all five innings to get the win.

Brownsburg 12 Southport 0 – Ty McCoy threw all five innings to get the win allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out three. John Moore was 3-3 with two doubles, a RBI, and three runs scored. Sam Sampen was 2-2 with two RBI, Logan Coughlin was 2-2 with two doubled and two RBI, Isaac Sampen homered and drove in three, David Oliger was 2-2 with a RBI, and Bobby Carr was 2-2 with a double and a RBI.

Northview 4 TH South 3 – Kodie Girton threw seven innings allowing one hit, two unearned runs, and striking out two. Conner Ganly doubled and drove in four runs, Zach Hull was 2-3, and TJ Decker scored twice.

Bellmont 4 Norwell 3 – Bellmont trailed 2-0 going into the fifth, but scored three runs to take the lead for good. They got their first run on a wild pitch and then with two outs Matt Stidham hit a two run double to put Bellmont up 3-2. 

Sectional 24 – Champ: Hamilton Heights

Muncie Central 6 Yorktown 3

Hamilton Heights 15 Muncie Southside 8 - In the afternoon opener, Logan Cunningham hit a three-run homer and A.J. Wills played excellent defense to lead the Huskies.

Hamilton Heights 3 Muncie Central 0 – Spencer Dull hit a two-run homer to key the offense.

Sectional 28 – Champ: Edgewood

Edgewood 14 Owen Valley 1 – Jake Bauer got the win on the mound throwing all five innings allowing four hits, one unearned run, and striking out nine. Bryan Delos Santos was 2-2 with a double, homerun, and four RBI to lead the offense. Nick Raventos was 3-4 with two RBI, Zach Allam was 2-3 with two RBI, and Ryan Newman was 1-1 with three runs. 

Sectional 29 – Champ: Greensburg

Greensburg 8 Madison 2 - Kevin Meyer threw game #1 and Championship game throwing 14 innings (7 each) and only allowing 3 total runs and striking out 15. He looked good in both games. Clayton Tressler hit a 2 run homer in the Championship game.

Sectional 30 – Champ: Silver Creek

North Harrison 11 Charlestown 1

Silver Creek 8 Corydon Central 7 – Silver Creek was down 7-4 in the bottom of the 7th, but scored four runs to get the win. Luke McIntyre singled in the first run, then Layne Taylor hit a bases loaded singled to bring in two more tying the game, and Lucas Barnett squeeze bunted in the final run to get the win.

Silver Creek 11 North Harrison 10 F/8 – Silver Creek trailed 9-3, but managed to battle back thanks to a Matt Hawn three run homerun in the fouth, a passed ball run in the fifth, and two run homerun from Lucas Barnett in the sixth. In the 8th they trailed 10-9 going into their final at-bat, Layne Taylor drove in a run with a single to tie the game and Jamie Valvano singled in another run to give Silver Creek the walk off win. Jacob Armstrong homered earlier in the game as well. 

Sectional 31 – Champ: Jasper

Heritage Hills 3 Vincennes Lincoln 1 – Jake Fella got the win throwing 4.2 innings allowing three hits, one run, and striking out five. Trent Simpson was 2-4 with a double, triple, and two RBI and Damon Wahl was 2-4 with a run scored.

Jasper 18 Pike Central 1 – Karson Nixon went all five innings to get the win striking out five. Devon Taylor doubled and drove in three runs.

Jasper 18 Heritage Hills 1 – Nick Gobert gave up a leadoff homerun to Garret Wetzel, but didn’t allow a hit the rest of the game to get the win. Dane Giesler was 3-4 with a homerun and six RBI, Mark Giesler was 3-5 with six RBI, and Caleb Begle was 3-3 with two RBI.

Hebron 10 North Judson 0 – Kyle Joyce got the win throwing a complete game two hit shutout, striking out ten.

Sectional 35 – Champ: Central Noble

Central Noble 3 Bremen 2 – Down 1-0 in the fifth CN scored 3 in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. Nick McCoy got the win throwing all seven innings allowing five hits, one earned run, and striking out 12. Tanner Likes drove in two runs and Kevin Kennedy was 2-2 with a RBI and a run scored.

Cass 4 North Miami 0

Northfield 9 Manchester 4 – Ryan Keaffaber picked up the win going six innings allowing two hits, no runs, and striking out 14. At the plate he was 2-4 with two triples and three RBI. Andy Roser was 4-4 with two double and a RBI, Collin Dawes was 2-4, and Hunter Wells was 2-3 with a RBI.

Northfield 7 Cass 1 – Northfield opened up the game with a six run fourth inning. Andy Roser threw 3.1 innings allowing one hit and Ryan Keaffaber picked up the win throwing 3.2 innings allowing one hit, one run, and striking out eight. Adam Roser was 2-4 with a double and three RBI and Joseph Ross was 2-2 with a double and two RBI.

Wapahani 9 Lapel 8 – Reynold was 3-4 with three RBI and a run to lead the way offensively for Wapahani. Replogle was 2-4 with a double, Roach was 2-4 with two doubles and two RBI, and R. Estep was 2-3 with a double, RBI, and two runs. Evan Mohr was 3-4 with a double, homerun, and three RBI for Lapel.

Sectional 46 – Champ: Eastern (Pekin)

Eastern (Pekin) 6 Providence 5 – Eastern trailed 3-0 in the fifth, but pushed across six runs to take the lead for good. The inning was highlighted by an RBI single from Dustin Miller and a two out bases loaded two RBI single from Josh Gillespie. 

Sectional 47 – Champ: Linton-Stockton

Linton-Stockton 15 Sullivan 2

North Central (Farm) 5 North Knox 1 – Daniell Loveall picked up the complete game win allowing five hits, one run, and striking out four. Tyler Strain was 2-3 with a run, Connor Strain was 2-3 with a solo homerun, and Jacob Hauger was 1-1 with two RBI.

Evansville Mater Dei 5 South Spencer 4 – Sam Goad drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th. Ben Sellers got the win in relief striking out four of the five batters he faced.

Sectional 51 – Champ: South Central (UM)

South Central (UM) 13 Oregon-Davis 6 – Garrett Walter had a big day at the plate going 2-2 with two homeruns, four RBI, and three runs. Blake Geskey was 1-1 with a homerun, two RBI, and three runs and Ben Rosebaum doubled and drove in three.

South Central 6 Triton 1 – Ben Rosebaum threw a complete game allowing just four hits and one run. Garrett Walter had another big game at the plate going 2-3 with two homeruns, three RBI, and two runs. Rosebaum and Adam Clindaniel both hit solo homeruns and Steven Shepherd doubled and drove in a run. 

Sectional 52 – Champ: FW Blackhawk

FW Blackhawk 18 Howe 3 – Riley Reimschisel and Nathan Targgart led the offense for Blackhawk. Reimschisel was 4-5 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs and Targgart was 3-4 with a triple, four RBI, and three runs. Dru Sebastian was 2-2 with two doubles and two RBI and Caleb Cook tripled and drove in two.

Elkhart Christian 18 Hamilton 8

FW Blackhawk 10 Elkhart Christian 1 – Matt Kaplanis threw a complete game two hitter, allowing one run, and striking out 14. Caleb Cook was 3-4 with a triple, RBI, and a run, Riley Reimschisel was 3-5 with two RBI and a run, and Nathan Targgart was 3-4 with a triple, homerun, three RBI, and two runs. Kaplanis, Brice Urschel, and Damon DeJesus each had two hits in the game. 

Sectional 53 – Champ: Turkey Run

Turkey Run 15 North Vermillion 2 – Schuyler Jeffers went 4-5 at the plate with a triple and four RBI to lead the offense. He also threw all five innings to pick up the win. Jake Kelp was 3-4 with a RBI and two runs, Jeff Woods was 3-4 with a double, triple, two RBI, and two runs, Riley Sunderman was 2-5 with a double and three RBI, Tyler Goddard was 2-4 with two RBI and two runs, and Dallas Thomas was 2-3 with two triples, a RBI, and three runs.

University 16 Greenwood Christian 0 – University won their first sectional in school history. Alex Nerney was 2-2 with three RBI and three runs, Eric Wott was 2-3 with a RBI and three runs, Alex Carson was 1-2 with two RBI and a run, and Eric Metzman doubled and drove in a run.

Sectional 60 – Champ: Rising Sun

Jac-Cen-Del 9 Oldenburg 1 – Alex Schoettmer threw the rare no hitter allowing on unearned run. He gave up two walks and struck out 16 in the win. Dominque Norman was 2-2 with a double and three RBI, Trent Smith was 3-4 with a double and RBI, and Joe Harlemert was 2-3 with a double and two RBI.

Rising Sun 2 Hauser 1 – Nathan Hannan, just like Schoettmer, threw the rare no hitter allowing one unearned run. He walked three and struck out seven in the win. Rising Sun trailed 1-0 in the sixth, but Brandon Turner hit a two run double to give them the win.

Rising Sun 12 Jac-Cen-Del 2 – Miles Morris threw six innings to get the win allowing four hits, two runs, and striking out ten. Jake Willhite was 2-4 with two RBI and two runs, Austin Armstrong was 2-4 with a double and a RBI, and David Huber drove in two runs and scored twice. Alex Oser, Ryan Dugan, and Cody Weaver each drove in a run.
