Dalton Shank went 2-for-4 with a homerun, triple, and four RBI as the Boonsboro Warriors took down the Williamsport Wildcats 7-2 on Monday afternoon.

The game was a chess match to start out as both starters, Josh DeRocher for the Warriors, Maddux Grove for Willimsport went two shutout innings to get started. That all changed heading into the third inning when Shank led the inning off with a solo homerun and the Warriors added another from an Aaron Hartle RBI single to left to make the score 2-0.

Both teams would be quiet until they headed into the top of the sixth frame and Boonsboro would again strike first, when Shank would hit a two-RBI triple to centerfield with two out that would score both runners on base. Heading to the bottom of the inning the Warriors were ahead 4-0.

Williamsport would strike in the bottom of the frame as Justin Taylor led off the inning with a solo homerun to rightfield to cut into the Warrior lead. Justin Moschel would reach on a bunt attempt and make it to third via error. Moschel would then score off an RBI groundout off the bat of Corey Walters that would cut he lead to 4-2 heading to the seventh.

Boonsboro would then add three runs in the top of the seventh after their first two hitters would reach via walk. After a failed sacrifice bunt attempt left runners at first and second with one out, a walk would load the bases and one run would cross with a bases loaded hit-by-pitch. A bases loaded walk would add another with Shank at the plate, netting his fourth RBI of the game and a wild pitch later would extend the lead to the 7-2 final score.

Outside of Shank, Boonsboro was also led by Jake Neff, who went 2-for-3. DeRocher got the win would 6.2 innings on the moudn scattering one-hit while striking out 12.

Taylor led Williamsport with their lone hit and RBI with his homerun.
