SoCal Player of the Week: LHP/OF Ivan Plazola

2018 LHP/OF Ivan Plazola of Monte Vista HS (Spring Valley, CA) has been named this week's Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance on the mound and at the plate for the Monarchs last week.

Monte Vista is riding a six-game win streak and sits tied atop the Grossmont Valley League standings with a 3-0 record thanks in large part to Plazola.

Last week as the Monarchs went 3-0 with a win over Mount Miguel and a two-game sweep over West Hills, the senior LHP/OF threw 6.1 innings, allowing 0 runs, 4 hits, striking out 4 and walking one, while collecting two wins on the week; The Monarchs team captain was also 7-for-11 with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and 5 RBI. On the season he's 5-2 with a 2.16 ERA and is hitting .350 with 12 RBI.

For his efforts, Plazola has been named the Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week for the week of April 9 - April 15.
