SoCal Player of the Week: RHP/INF Michael Shcharber

2018 RHP/INF Michael Shcharber of Villa Park HS (Villa Park, CA) has been named this week's Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance on the mound and at the plate for the Spartans last week.

Villa Park has been streaky this year leading to an 11-11 record overall. The Spartans have been on the winning end of some big games and on the losing end of some tough battles. One of the constants, though, has been Shcharber who both pitches and hits for the Spartans.

As the Spartans split two games in the North Hills League, for the week the senior RHP/INF was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in a tough loss to a good Canyon team and a win vs Brea Olinda HS. Shcharber also pitched a complete game giving up 1 earned run, 1 walk, and striking out 6 to earn a win.

For his efforts, Shcharber has been named the Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week for the week of April 16 - April 22.
