Spotlight Player: Mitch Roman HSE 2013



PBR: As you enter your junior year in high school, where are you currently in the recruiting process?

Mitch: I have been communicating back and forth with several schools. Many have shown interest and are looking forward to seeing me play this spring/summer.

PBR: What are your expectations for the recruiting process?

Mitch: My goal is to have a decision by the end of summer, possibly fall if I need to visit some schools. I would just like to attend the school that’s the best fit for me.  

PBR: What level of baseball do you see yourself playing at the next level?

Mitch: I see myself playing anywhere from D2 to D1 level 

PBR: What schools are you most interested in right now, and why?

Mitch: Right now it’s hard to say, but mostly Indiana schools

PBR: What aspect of your game do you believe needs the most improvement?

Mitch: I would love to improve my 60 time.  

PBR: What are your personal goals for the upcoming 2012 season?

Mitch: My personal goals for this 2012 season is to help give my team its best chance to win a state title and improve my mental approach when batting.

PBR: What are your high school team goals for the upcoming 2012 season?

Mitch: Win the Hoosier Crossroad Conference, win a very tough Sectional, and hopefully compete for a State Championship for Hamilton Southeastern High School

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer?

Mitch: Indiana Mustangs 17U

PBR: What is your fondest memory or highlight from your 2011 baseball season (High School or Summer)?

Mitch: Being named to All Hamilton County for high school

PBR: What were your stats for your 2011 HS season?  Summer Season?

Mitch: 2011 Varsity season(sophomore) - .369 BA with 8 doubles – .955 fielding %

2011 summer season  - .385 BA

PBR: What is your GPA? ACT or SAT score? If you have not taken it do you have a planned date?

Mitch: Currently I have a 3.05 GPA. I have taken the SAT a couple of weeks ago and am waiting for the results.

PBR: Have you decided on a major or narrowed it down?

Mitch: I think I want to go into the field of business and sales
