Scouting Report
Spring 2020
"The 5-foot-10, 170-pound uncommitted middle infielder finds himself at the top of the board. Shiver has continued to fill out his frame, putting on twenty pounds since Border Battle in 2018. Has tools to stay at SS at next level, but can provide depth and versatility playing all over the infield. Good hands and transitions, steady defensive infielder. Offensively, sprays the ball to all field w/ heavy dose of line drives and gap-to-gap power. Balanced, patient approach at the plate. This 2020 will be a quality late add that can bring a dynamic skillset to a college program." -Colton Provey, TN Scouting Director
10/13/18 - Home-1st: 4.56, Position Velocity: IF-80, Exit Velocity: 80
5-foot-10, 150-pound, RHH showed an advanced approach and intriguing all-around tools package while picking up a hit in game. Medium, athletic frame w/ high-waist, some well-proportioned lean strength, projectable. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into leg kick and short hand load. Generates bat speed through the zone, better bat speed than exit velocity suggests. All fields approach w/ lot of line drives. Advanced approach, understands the strike zone better than most. Got him in trouble on this day, as he took a couple strikeouts looking on balls, will play up at the next level as umpiring gets more consistent. Present gap power w/ projectable pull power. Flashes whippy bat speed through the zone w/ ability to drive the baseball, surprising power for his size. Defensively, features soft hands w/ good footwork and projectable carry to target arm strength, has the tools to stay at SS at some schools.
