Stock Report: RHP TJ Case

By Steve Nielsen

Today’s player spotlight is on TJ Case. Case is Class of 2014 graduate from Willowbrook HS whose stock is on the rise. Case recently threw for us at the Pitchers Showcase and Analysis. Case showed much improved velocity since the last time we saw him at the Open Identification on June 12th. If Case continues to make strides at this pace he could find himself among one of the better arms in the class.

Case is a long lanky right-handed pitcher, standing at 6-foot-2, and 166-pounds, showing a lot of projectability. He uses his long arms well throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. Possessing a quick arm action, Case's fastball sat between 85-87 mph. His off-speed pitches show upside, with a little more polish he will possess a well rounded arsenal. He throws his curveball at 69-71 mph with late life showing solid two-plane break. His change-up (72-76 mph) shows upside as well throwing it for strikes with good arm speed, as he develops more feel for the pitch it could develop into a great out pitch.

TJ Case will definitely be one to keep a close eye on in the Class of 2014.
