AL: Team Alabama Impresses In First Future Games Appearance
Alabama was represented at the Future Games for the first time this summer and the talent certainly didn’t disappoint. Several players made their presence known during the workout portion as well as during game play. 2021 OF/RHP Will Passeau (St. Paul’s HS, AL) was one of the leading two-way prospects at the event, as he showed an advanced offensive approach from the left side and featured a fastball up to 89 mph on the mound during his inning of work. Another two-way guy worth mentioning was 2021 RHP/3B Trent Hodgdon (Smiths Station HS, AL), who was an extra-base hit machine at the plate and was equally, if not more, dominant on the mound, showing a fastball up to 89 mph and a wipeout breaking ball. 2021 C/RHP Ellis Yohn (Smiths Station HS, AL) was tied for second at the event with an 82 mph velocity from behind the plate. He was also up to 89 mph on the mound. 2021 SS/RHP Aidan Stewart (Next Level Academy, AL) set the all time infield velocity as he threw 94 mph across the diamond. The switch-hitting SS was also up to 91 mph on the mound. Four players from Team Alabama have since committed to Division I programs and numerous others have received offers/interest.
