Super 60 Spotlight: Brayden Jones

On Sunday, Feb. 7, Prep Baseball Report will host the 19th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 22 first-round picks and 25 second-rounders.

We started our our march toward the Super 60 earlier this year, by highlighting the prospects set to join us, shining a light on their impressive player profiles that they've groomed through their high school years and beyond.

Scouting Report

2/29/20

6'0", 180 pounds; RHP with sturdy athletic frame. Uses a over the top delivery and quip whip type, slightly short arm action. Uses his legs well and drives the ball to the plate. Very good direction and repeatable delivery. Fastball regularly reaches 91-93 mph range with arm side run. Change up mimics fastball well and shows same arm side action. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with lots of depth. Not afraid of contact and plays in the zone.

6-foot, 170-pound athletic frame; RHP/3B. On the mound, showing quick arm speed he had an over-the-top arm angle with a short arm action. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher. Has plus action and consistent accuracy on his 11/5 curveball 71-73. His fastball was 84-88 mph; and topped out at 88 mph; had hard action on his tailing fastball. His changeup regularly came in at velocities of 80-82 mph.
