The Texas high school season kicks off on February 24, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 31, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25. 

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. SEASON PREVIEW

Braswell’s biggest strengths this season will be their defense and depth on the mound, returning six starters from last years 2019 team. Coach Donnie Watson will ultimately look towards seniors RHP Nick Perry (Grayson commit) and MIF Logan Quan to lead this year’s squad. CF Mario Lopez can also be expected to help anchor the defense. LHP Ethan Fields and 1B/LHP Nic Bennett will also be able to provide some innings on the mound. The Bengals can look forward to having 2022 SS/3B Jayson Jones(Currently No. 8 in the 2022 PBR Texas Rankings and No. 53 in the PBR Overall Rankings) on the diamond for next few years, a coveted recruit in the 2022 class
