The Mississippi high school season kicks off on February 16, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 28, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. Outlook

   Expectations are high for Coach Jamie Russell and the Seminoles this year, as they return three arms and five starters from last season's 23-win, state runner-up finish. The Seminoles have a roster full of experience and will look for this maturity to carry them through the 2019 campaign. RHP Jared Johnson will lead the roster as he is coming off an impressive junior season where he hit .500 while logging 64 innings on the mound with 103 strikeouts. Mitchell Finn will also be a big piece to the puzzle as he hit .317 last season.  With back-to-back trips to Pearl, Coach Russell's Seminoles have the experience and talent required to make another run in 2019.
