Brayden Jones: Madison-Ridgeland Academy High School, Class of 2021; 6-foot, 170-pound athletic frame; RHP/3B. On the mound, showing quick arm speed he had an over-the-top arm angle with a short arm action. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher. Has plus action and consistent accuracy on his 11/5 curveball 71-73. His fastball was 84-88 mph; and topped out at 88 mph; had hard action on his tailing fastball. His changeup regularly came in at velocities of 80-82 mph.
Keshun Patterson: Pascagoula High School, Class of 2020; 6-foot-2, 150-pound projectable frame; RHP/2B. On the mound, he showed a high ¾ arm angle and a long arm action with lightning arm speed. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher and shows some effort in his delivery. His fastball came in at 84-86 mph; with a max of 86 mph; threw his running fastball with consistent accuracy and hard action. His curveball (74-78 mph) worked best when he spotted up low in the zone; showed very consistent accuracy and sharp action on curveball. He successfully located his changeup for a strike at 71-72 mph.
Sam Hill: West Jones High School, Class of 2020; 6-foot-6, 200-pound projectable frame; RHP. On the mound, using a loose arm action he showed quick arm speed from an over-the-top arm angle. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher. Showed consistent accuracy and plus action on his 11/5 curveball 72-72. He produced a fastball that came in at 84-85 mph; with a max of 85 mph; running fastball shows some action.
Mac Sims: DeSoto Central High School, Class of 2020; 5-foot-11, 170-pound athletic frame; RHP/SS. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 88 mph. Started in athletic stance with a wrapping load. Bat speed is rapid, has an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Showed a drive the ball approach in his path. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 75 mph; showed sure hands and rhythmic footwork. Showed a high ¾ slot and a long arm action. He recorded a time of 7.43 in the 60-yard dash. On the mound, he showed a high ¾ arm angle and a long arm action with lightning arm speed. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort in his delivery. He showed the ability to locate his curveball for a strike at 71-73 mph; shows a 1/7 curveball with sharp action. His fastball sat 83-85 mph. He showed the ability to throw his changeup (75 mph) low in zone.
11/18/18 Pearl River CC commit has an athletic 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with plenty of room to add strength over the next couple of years. Offensively flashed a short approach creating good lag through the zone, to go with a balanced setup. He posted an exit velocity of 90 mph off the tee, and showed gap power during BP, as well a quality at-bat during the game where he found barrel in a couple at-bats. Defensively worked with fluid footwork at shortstop and flashed plenty of arm strength across the diamond at 85 mph. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Right-handed pitcher showed polish, and athleticism to his delivery with feel for the position. Medium arm stroke into high-3/4 release with quick arm speed and regular effort. Pitched 85-88 mph with his fastball, showing ability to command the pitch to both sides of the plate with life to the arm side. Breaking ball showed near 12/6 shape with quality spin and depth at 70-72 mph. Also showed feel for a changeup with fastball arm speed, deception and fade action at 78-79 mph.
6/20/18 Athletic 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame with room for added strength. Left-handed hitter starting from an open and tall setup with loose rhythm in hands. Loads with a quick, abbreviated leg kick into a short stride, slightly creating separation with hands. Loose, rotational path with quick hands and bat speed through the zone producing an exit velocity 81 mph. Defensively displayed fundamental footwork, moving with smoothness through the play with a clean exchange, and made low accurate throws from multiple arm slots producing a positional velocity of 82 mph. Ran a 7.6 60-yard dash. Right-handed pitcher throwing from multiple release points with fluid rhythm and easy effort in delivery. Works down mound with in-line direction, finishing athletically. With a medium arm stroke and quick hand speed, his fastball was 80-82 mph. Spun several sliders from a lower slot that showed late breaking action at 67-71 mph. Breaking ball was thrown at 58-61 mph and showed early 11/5 shape while change up was 70-71 mph.
Clayton Thurman: Warren Central High School, Class of 2020; 5-foot-11, 190-pound solid frame; RHP/SS. On the mound, showing lightning arm speed he used a long arm action and an over-the-top arm angle. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher and uses some effort in his delivery. His fastball was clocked at 81-85 mph. His curveball (67-68 mph) had the most depth when he located it down by the hitter’s knees.
Henry Lee: Jackson Academy High School, Class of 2020; 5-foot-11, 175-pound athletic frame; OF/LHP. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 85 mph. Started in balanced stance and had a short stride Exhibited a flat swing plane, as well as rapid bat speed and good extension on his finish. His best position velocity in the outfield was registered at 76 mph;footwork was rhythmic. Showed a short arm action with a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.13. On the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a short arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort in his delivery. His fastball was clocked at 83-85 mph; with a max of 85 mph; shows a tailing fastball with slight action. Throws a sinking curveball 66-67 that shows some action and consistent accuracy. He showed the ability to throw his changeup (67 mph) low in zone.
