With the Fall Updated Rankings for all classes just around the corner, we take a look at the catchers that showcased in the Invitation Only Top Prospect Games in Vicksburg in July. Looking at both Pop Time and throw velocity - meet the Top 6 Catchers...

Dalton Cook: Long Beach High School, Class of 2020; 5-foot-11, 185-pound solid frame; C/OF. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 87 mph. He showed plus arm strength as his throws to second reached velocities of 80 mph. He was very efficient behind the plate, producing pop times of 1.80-2.00; Had accuracy to the base and a compact arm action. He clocked a time of 7.07 in the 60-yard dash.

Cole Evans: Wayne Academy High School, Class of 2020; 6-foot-2, 215-pound solid frame; C. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 91 mph, showing his ability to drive the ball with power. Sets up in open stance and has a small load. Displayed a straight-to-the-ball swing plane and good extension on his finish. He displayed a plus arm with strong throw downs to second that hit 78 mph; had next level hands, quick feet and a clean exchange. While catching, he displayed his ability to control the run game with a pop time of 1.80-2.10; Used an-over-the-top slot with a compact arm action while showing very consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, he clocked a 60 time of 8.02.

Jackson Evers: Madison Ridgeland Academy High School, Class of 2023; 6-foot-2, 170-pound; 1B/RHP. During batting practice, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 83 mph. Begins in balanced athletic  stance with a smooth load, then uses a toe tap to initiate his swing. Exhibits rapid bat speed, as well as a straight-to-the-ball swing plane and good extension on his finish. He showed plus arm strength as his throws to second reached velocities of 78 mph. Behind the plate, he displayed  catching ability by boasting a 1.80-2.10 pop time; Used a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag.

Begins in athletic stance with a wrapping load, then uses a toe tap to start his swing. Exhibits quick bat speed and good extension on his finish. He made strong, efficient throws to second at velocities up to 80 mph; showed quick footwork, twitchy hands and a quick exchange. Behind the plate, he showed his ability to throw runners out with an efficient pop time of 1.69-2.00; Showed a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. He clocked a time of 7.35 in the 60-yard dash.

Starts in balanced stance with a wrapping load, then uses a short stride to initiate his swing. Displays an upward swing plane, as well as quick bat speed and a high finish. He displayed a plus arm with strong throw downs to second that hit 80 mph; his exchange was twitchy and his footwork was quick. With a pop time of 1.89-2.01, he showed off his  feet and his ability to control the run game from behind the plate; Used a short arm action with an-over-the-top slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.1.

Began in athletic stance with a wrapping load, then used a short stride right before his swing. Bat speed was rapid, exhibited a flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. He made strong throws to second and produced an efficient position velocity of 79 mph; showed quick feet and a twitchy exchange. Behind the plate, he displayed  catching ability by boasting a 1.90-2.20 pop time; Showed a compact arm action and an-over-the-top slot. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 7.25.
