The Hotlist: Uncommitted 2017 Pitchers

By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

The Hotlist recently went through a series of highlighting uncommitted seniors by position. Now, we shift the focus to juniors. Members of the 2017 class obviously have plenty of time to figure out where they will continue their careers. Listed alphabetically below are several juniors still on the market. As you can see, despite the recruiting game moving at a fast pace, there is still plenty of talent available.

Brock Batty, LHP, Denham Springs HS, LA
Batty is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound southpaw with a medium, athletic frame. He has a clean, repeatable delivery and lands square and in line with an athletic finish. He displays smooth rhythm throughout with a long, loose arm action. His arm is quick through a 3/4 release with easy effort. His fastball sits 83-85 mph, touching 86, with slight sink and arm-side run. He shows an outstanding feel for his curveball, which has 1/7 shape with tight spin and sharp, late break at 70-72. He displays a quality changeup with good arm speed, deception and late, hard fading action. He also flashes a slider that has sharp, late break with deception, but it lacked depth, making it closer to a cutter.
