Top-10 Profiles of 2021: No. 1, Noah Miller
January 1, 2022
As we approach the end of 2021, we're taking account of the PBR Wisconsin player profile pages to determine the players in our backyard whose profiles earned the most attention throughout the year. We're counting down the top-10 profiles in the state that received the most views, from No. 10 and on, concluding our countdown on New Year's Day by revealing the most-viewed profile of the year.
Concluding our end of the year countdown on the first day of 2022 is INF Noah Miller (Ozaukee), who’s profile garnered the most attention in the entire state as it did in 2020 as well. The 6-foot, 187-pound former Alabama commit became the latest Wisconsin native to hear his name called early in the MLB Draft process, as the Minnesota Twins selected Miller with the 36th overall pick last July. Miller cemented himself as, historically, one of the Badger State’s most impressive all-around prospects throughout his prep career. He showcased a skill-set capable of impacting the game in multiple facets throughout several looks, most notably a true impact type glove on the infield dirt and quality contact skills from both sides of the plate. The last time we saw Miller up-close was at the prestigious Super 60 and here’s what our scouts had to say about him:
“Alabama recruit. 6-foot, 187 pounds; lean athleticism with long levers, high-waisted build. Further room to add more strength to frame without sacrificing agility that he utilizes especially well on defense. Miller had a claim to be considered the top prospect in attendance entering the event, and he leaves with the notion intact. Started the day by running a 6.93 on soft, new turf; long, athletic strides, effort in gait. Switch-hitter with similar, fluid, repeatable swings from both sides; projects well from both batter’s boxes, natural barrel feel from the right and left. Generated a slightly higher exit speed from the right side, though creates a little more loft, naturally, from the left-handed box. Sprays line-drives to all fields effectively; max exit speed of 96.04 mph in batting practice. Blast Motion recorded his average bat speed at 71.47 mph. Defensively, showcased trademark body control while ranging to his backhand and forehand. Advanced hands/feet fluidity optimizes efficiency from funnel to transfer, and his release is consistently uber quick, with precision. Miller is among the top-ranked shortstops in the class, and arguably the best defender in the Midwest, which helps continue the trend of Wisconsin producing elite middle infield talent.”
Miller is set to jumpstart his professional career next year as he briefly got a taste of action on the complex shortly after the draft. Learn more about Miller’s high school career, below.
