Top Prospect - St. Louis: Missouri Outfielders

The third annual Top Prospect Games - St. Louis, took place Tuesday, June 4th. The invite-only event brought together some of the top uncommitted 2020s from Missouri and Illinois to SIU-Edwardsville. The event consisted of a showcase in the morning and games in the afternoon with 30+ colleges in attendance.

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance.

Here is a closer look at the Missouri Outfielders from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

Missouri Outfielders

Ryan Fortune RHP / OF / Kirkwood, MO / 2020

Fortune is a 6-foot 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.55 home to first and has an 85 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall and balanced stance, minimal load with short stride, early to toe touch, middle to pull side contact during hitting evals. In the outfield, 81 mph positional velocity, three quarters arm slot, plays through the ball with clean transfer and quick feet.

Jared Kuchta OF / 1B / Fort Zumwalt East, MO / 2020

Kutcha is a 6-foot-1 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.80 home to first and has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, crouched stance, minimal load, short to contact with high finish in hands, gap to gap approach, stays balanced during swing. In the outfield, 74 mph positional velocity, over the top arm slot, clean exchanges and transfers, over the top arm slot with mostly accurate throws.

Eric Loomis RHP / OF / CBC, MO / 2020

Loomis is a tall and lean 6-foot-1 179-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.69 home to first and had a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plat, balanced and tall set up, no hand load, smooth rhythm, in line stride, accelerates to contact, loose hand with quick bat speed, gap to gap line drives. In the outfield, 90 mph positional velocity, throws downhill at times, clean and loose arm action with fluid footwork and exchange, plays through the ball with mostly accurate throws.

Jacob McCauley OF / RHP / Vianney, MO / 2020

McCauley is an athletically built 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.44 home to first and has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with a balanced stance, small and quick leg lift, level path, mostly middle of the field contact with power to the pull side, in the outfield, quick to the ball, hight three quarters arm slot, plays through the catch with momentum from footwork, 86 mph positional velocity, mostly accurate throws, some with carry.

Brennan Perkins OF / RHP / Rockhurst , MO / 2020

Perkins is a 5-foot-11 185-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.22 home of first and has an 80 mph exit velocity, At the plate, balanced stance with some load in hands, short in line stride, level path with high finish, gap to gap approach, stays balanced throughout swing, quick bat speed. In the outfield, 83 mph positional velocity, athletic footwork with quick exchange, over the top release, quick arm speed, fluid actions with a small crow hop before release, mostly accurate throws.

Cole Robinson 1B / 3B / Rockwood Summit, MO / 2020

Robinson is a strong and well built 6-foot-2 242-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class, committed to Missouri State. At the plate, pre pitch rhythm in hands, smooth load with short stride, short to contact, loose hands with fast bat speed, power to pull side, uses lower half for leverage, has feel for barrel. In the outfield, loose arm action, athletic actions, high three quarters arm slot, clean transfer and throw, 75 mph positional velocity.

Seth Roggenkamp OF / LHP / DeSmet Jesuit, MO / 2020

Roggenkamp is a long and lean 6-foot-1 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.54 home to first and had an 85 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, hands have pre pitch rhythm and walk away from stride, level path slightly around the ball, good barrel awareness with middle to pull side line drives. In the outfield, high three quarters arms lot, aggressive through the ball, footwork creates momentum through the ball, clean and quick exchanges, mostly accurate throws
