Top Prospect Games - June 12th Stat Sheet

The 2018 Top Prospect Games took place on Tuesday, June 12th and Wednesday, June 13th at Hawkins Field, the home of the Vanderbilt Commodores.  This event included a position player workout, followed by pitchers throwing live on the game mound. Players were afforded the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the PBR Tennessee staff and college coaches in attendance. The following is a look at the top statistical performances from the event from the June 12th day.

- Letzgus, an uncommitted 2019 prospect, touched 91 twice while showcasing his quick arm.  Attending his first PBR event involving game play, he made a strong impression showcasing his consistent 87-91 fastball with occasional arm side life.  He also mixed in a 79-81 curveball.  The two way prospect also showed off his athleticism, running a 4.43 from the right side and throwing 90 plus from the infield and outfield.

- Williams, attending his second PBR event, has led both events he has attended in exit velocity.  The physical left-handed hitter has shown a lot of growth since the Border Battle last October and is showing signs of converting his raw tools into consistent production.

- Walker, an uncommitted 2019 prospect, showed off his arm strength from the OF.  A long, rangy athlete at 6’2, 191 pounds, he features significant projection w/ a lot of tools, including landing on the leaderboard for exit velocity.

- Vogel, attending his first PBR event since 2016, showed off an 85 mile per hour arm across the diamond.  Featuring a super projectable, lanky 6’0, 160-pound frame, he showed easy arm strength w/ a solid glove and played through the ball well.

- McCarthy continues to show off his impact catch and throw ability, popping 1.84-1.95 in the showcase and popping as low as 1.97 between innings during game play.  He also had a big day offensively, finding barrels and driving the baseball to all fields.

- Carmon, attending his first PBR event, showed off his raw speed w/ a 4.37 down the line.  An athletic catcher, he also showed some pull power in game.
