Carson Crainshaw (2022 RHP/CIF South Rowan HS)

FB: 81-83 T 84  CB: 73-76

Notes: Low effort motion. Stretch only. Quick motion with solid arm speed. Max spin on the FB reached 2286 rpm. Landed the CB early, leaning on it for outs. Has some sweeping action, spin reached 2222. Arm speed varied on the breaking ball, elevating at times. 

Bryton Lawson (2022 OF/LHP Lake Norman HS)

FB: 76-78 T79   CB: 67-69   CH: 71

Notes: Good hand speed upon release. Erratic. Arm side run present. Worked off the fastball throughout the outing.

Mark Ashton (2022 RHP/3B Mooresville HS)

FB: 74-75   CB: 65   CH: 71

Notes: Deception in the delivery. Side steps then goes into a medium-high leg kick, uphill leverage, coiling, working back to an in-line and square foot-strike. Breaking ball has depth. Some sink on FB to arm side. 

Colton Fisher (2022 3B/RHP South Rowan HS)

Notes: Two really good plays at 3B on slow rollers showing off some mobility. At the plate, has good size and starts slightly open then takes a small step as his stride brings him back to neutral. His bat stays flat in his load and moves just a bit to more of a vertical angle. A little heavy on front side at times. Sprayed some hard hit line drives over the field throughout the weekend.

Brandon Moore (2022 SS/RHP West Cabarrus HS)

Notes: Average build. Starts in a balanced setup. Utilizes a leg hang as part of his stride and has good balance with it. Showed good power for his size on a 2B to LF.

Gage Ostwalt (2022 OF South Iredell HS)

Notes: Strong build, strength is present in his swing. Balanced, even start. Simple swing just using a little step as his stride. At times, his stride opens him up a little causing his barrel to lag. Showed good balance as he sat back on a hung CB and drove it to RF.  Crushed a 2B to LF, takes strong swings with the intent to do damage.

Jordan King (2022 1B Carson HS)

Notes: Open stance. Small leg kick with good balance. Good pitch recognition. Tight barrel turn as his hands work well staying inside and through the ball. Showed good power as he one hopped the RF wall. 

Austin Sabo (2022 MIF Mooresville HS)

Notes: Starts open, small step to get back to even. Hands start high and work well. Barreled a couple of balls on the weekend, put together good swings.

Drew Park (2022 CIF/RHP Mooresville HS)

Slightly open stance. Small leg kick works well, hands move well with the leg kick. Smooth, easy swing. Barreled ball to LF.

Brian Stapleton (2021 RHP Methodist University commit)

FB: 78-80   CB: 66-67

Notes: Big frame at 6’3” 235lbs. Quick motion that features a medium high leg kick. Short arm swing. FB is downhill and got lots of swing/misses, spin reached 2118. Located the breaking ball. Kept hitters off balanced all game with solid mix.

Jake Andrews (2022 P/OF North Stanly HS)

FB: 78-81   CB: 74

Quick arm with average hand speed at release. Deception present in the delivery. Swings and misses in the zone.

Christian LaBarca (2022 INF/OF Langtree Charter HS)

Notes: Great defense at SS all weekend. Athletic actions all over the infield making tons of plays including a couple of tough plays on backhanded balls. Great job out of the leadoff spot putting together many QAB’s, got on base a ton all weekend. Average size. Starts tall, a leg kick then gets him into his legs. Level swing not looking to do too much. 

Skye Jones (2022 INF/OF East Meck HS)

Notes: Plus speed, big part of his game. Was a threat anytime he reached base which was a lot. Good baserunning/IQ showed as he scored from 2B with no hesitation on a blooper that barely left the IF. Utilized a drag bunt a few times to get on base. Balanced setup. Simple swing, stays balanced throughout. Barrels all weekend. 

Andrew Bruss (2022 INF/RHP Concord Academy)

Notes: Seemed to barrel a ball every time this weekend. Balanced start with a small stride. At times, he comes out of his legs and the stride foot opens up but the hands work extremely well. Solid swing, good barrel path. Sprayed the ball all over the field. Competes at the plate, complete hitter. 

Ben Locey (2022 C/3B Bradford Prep HS)

Notes: Starts in open stance. Hands start low. Uses a small stride that features a somewhat big hand movement as he strides. Works well for him/his timing. A little heavy on front side at times on stride.

Hayden Furr (2022 NF/OF/C North Stanly HS)

Pop Times: 2.14-2.34, good throw cutting down a runner at 2B. Strength is present in the swing. Couple of barrels this weekend.

Brian Stapleton (2021 RHP Methodist University commit) 

Notes: Balanced setup. Hands start high, small step as the stride. Small move of the hands as he strides. A couple of good swings this weekend. At times, hips fly open on the stride.

Nick Labarca (2021 C/OF Methodist commit)

Pop Times: 2.21-2.59, 2.21 was in game. 2.39 from knees. Threw out a couple of runners. Great play on block/recover perfect throw to get runner at 2B.

Izaac McGuire (2021 RHP)

FB: 73-76 T 77   CB: 64-66

Notes: Submarine pitcher. Starts open and has a slight leg kick back as he begins his motion. Long arm swing then comes under with the low-submarine arm slot. Some sink is present. Very effective when in the zone, hitters uncomfortable in the box.

Colin McGuire (2021 LHP)

FB: 79-82   CB: 70-73

Notes: Erratic but around the zone as the outing progressed. Slightly above average arm speed. Easy motion, low effort. Comes set low, then has a medium high leg kick that begins his short arm swing. Some sink. CB is sharp with 11-5 tilt. Good pickoff move to 1B. Showed some composure in bases loaded situation and then getting two strikeouts. 

Nash Thompson (2022 LHH)

Notes: Swung the bat well all weekend as he barreled tons of balls. Smooth swing. Tall setup. Uses a toe tap very well, stays back well. Hands start high and work well throughout the swing. Tons of line drives.

Izzac McGuire (2021)

Notes: Power is present. Huge swing off the LF wall just missing a HR. Compact swing, starts balanced then goes into a small stride. Hands stay inside the ball. Good swings all weekend.

Cole Powers 

Notes: A couple of barrels on the weekend, solid swing.

Brennan Fleming 

FB: 77-79 T80   CB: 67-71

Notes: Smooth, easy arm. Works quick, pushes the pace of play. Recorded multiple strikeouts. Filled up the zone with tons of strikes. Comes set slightly closed. Leg kick to balance, and then lands slightly open. Average to above arm speed. Short arm swing, over the top release. FB spin reached 2019rpm. Fields position well on the mound. CB spin reached 2234rpm.

Aidan Pugh (2023 RHP/CIF)

FB: 79-82   CB: 61

Filled up the zone and spotted corners with FB. Easy motion. Windup features a slow toe tap into a leg kick, throws out of a ¾ arm slot. Medium-long arm swing. Hips swing open occasionally on the leg kick/balance causing him to pull pitches occasionally. Received swing and miss in the zone and some chase. Hard to pick up the ball, not many good swings off of him. 

Brennan Fleming 

Notes: Open stance. Doesn’t ever get back all the way to even with stride. Hands work well, good swings all weekend.

Gavin Fleming

Notes: Good swing barreling a ball on a FB that was high/away. Put together good swings throughout the weekend.

Aidan Pugh (2023 RHP/OF)

Notes: Open stance, leg kick. Pulls off the ball a tad at times. Good pitch recognition, balance in the swing.
