We have finally made it to the point where we find out who makes it to the 2016 Final Four. The regional final matchups begin Tuesday, May 10th and will end on Friday the 13th. So far, we have seen multiple shocking upsets, some teams making it much further than expected, and of course some of the top programs in the state preparing to make a trip to Ft. Myers.

Below are all of Tuesday’s matchups which include a prediction for each and, for the highly anticipated games, a short explanation for why that team is expected to win.

Rockledge vs Archbishop McCarthy (Rockledge)
A viable argument can be given for either one of these teams being the top-ranked program in the state. This a contest between two true powerhouses and the winner has an excellent chance of winning the state championship. Rockledge appears to have the edge because they play at home will likely ride the backs of 2016 Miami commit Mason Studstill and 2016 Florida State commit Drew Parrish, both experienced and polished arms.

University (Orange City) vs West Orange (University)
Even though West Orange probably has the deeper lineup and better all-around team, this is not a series and the winner moves on and the loser goes home. Because of that, University appears to have the advantage in that they boast the most consistent pitcher in the state in 2017 LHP Logan Allen. See here as to why it will be so difficult for West Orange to score off of him.

Jupiter vs Stoneman Douglas (Stoneman Douglas)
Jupiter is arguably the hottest team in the state right now after not performing up to expectations in February and March. They also have a lineup that boasts five division I commits. That being said, they are facing one of the best teams in the country in Stoneman Douglas. 2016 SS Colton Welker is one of the top draft prospects in Florida and always seems to rise to the occasion in big games. Look for Welker to lead Stoneman Douglas to a victory over Jupiter.

Steinbrenner vs East Lake (Steinbrenner)
East Lake has one of the better pitching staffs in the state and will likely be starting 2016 Clemson commit Travis Macgregor. Even though MacGregor gives them an excellent chance to win and they took down a talented Sarasota team last week, they are having to travel to Steinbrenner this week and face a pitcher who has been just as dominate as Macgregor. Look for 2017 Florida State commit CJ Van Eyk to hold East Lake to very few runs and likely go the distance for Steinbrenner.
