Upside and pitch-ability are the calling cards for this 6-foot-3, 200 pounder out of Andrean High School. Mastalski pitches with a well-sequenced, low-effort delivery that allows him to flood the zone with a three-pitch mix. His best pitch is his sinking, mid-to-upper 70s changeup - a pitch that he has complete command of & will throw in any count. The fastball comes out of the same 3/4 slot, living in the mid-80s (T 87 mph), and it plays up due to his ability to pitch backwards & also has some run/sink action to it. Mastalski rounds out his arsenal with a low-70s breaking ball that flashes sweeping action. While there is still significant room in the frame to add lean strength, expect this strike-throwing right-hander to continue to add velocity as he matures into more strength.
