Scouting Report

Report: Chatwood is a 2021 RHP/ Outfielder from St. Joseph High School and the Red Deer Braves.  Standing at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Chatwood boasts a very balanced and proportional frame that can really add to his versatility on the diamond.  Chatwood has a flat bat path that has shown to produce consistent solid contact and has had his Exit Velocity at 82 mph.  With his present athleticism, this is sure to rise as he polishes and fine tunes his swing.  Chatwood showed good awareness in the outfield, showing good footwork and intelligent reactions to balls in his direction.  His arm was clocked at 85 mph and had consistent accuracy to each base.  From the mound, Chatwood has a long arm action and displayed some arm speed.  He is a very downhill working pitcher, using the plane of the mound well. His fastball was 81 mph at our event in August, as he couples this with a change-up and a breaking ball that has a good lateral plane.  These offerings continue to improve as Chatwood develops.  Chatwood has a lot of projectability in his game and will be interesting to watch as he develops in the future.
