Uncommitted Spotlight - '22 1B Indy Anderson (Shorecrest)
November 18, 2021
Earlier this Fall we had the chance to gather a strong group of uncommitted '22 and '23 prospects from WA and OR to compete against each other down at Goss Stadium on the campus of Oregon State University. The day kicked off with an indoor workout and then concluded with a controlled scrimmage.
PBR events events such as this provide players with the opportunity to build their profile with the most up-to-date information and video footage. All players in attendance receive an online profile with their verified statistics, player report, picture and video. Additionally, all subsequent stories written about a prospect will be linked to the player’s profile, ultimately creating a one-stop shop for recruiters.
Showcases help identify which prospects have asserted themselves towards the top of their class as well as who might be one of the next youngsters to emerge onto the scene. They also serve as potential identifiers for invite-only events such as our Future Games, Junior Future Games and West Coast Games

One of the top performing 2022 prospects from the event was uncommitted '22 1B Indy Anderson (Shorecrest). Anderson showed off improved strength and offensive measurables in the workout portion. Then kept the momentum going in the scrimmage with multiple hits and impressive power. Nearly left the yard on a deep 3B to deep RF. Anderson heads into the 2022 season with significant momentum and should be a known commodity for anyone looking to add some LH pop to their roster.

Scouting Report
Strong framed at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds with powerful levers. Anderson has made gains physically that have translated to added offensive output. From the left-side, sets up with a balanced, narrowly open set up with some subtle bat wiggle for rhythm/timing. Uses a short forward stride to get into stronger hitting base. Slight stretch with hands to create separation against his front side. Rotates easily and moves well through his lower/half core. Creates bat speed easily and stays balanced through contact. Barrel works slightly uphill with the loft you'd expect to see from a power threat. Strong lower half helps him create leverage as his front side stays posted throughout his finish. Very strong at point of contact. Defensively, profiles well at 1B with his size and offensive potential. Sound footwork and actions around the bag. Comes after the ball with consistent, deliberate tempo and understands the speed of the play. Showed a solid catch radius during INF workout. Arm action works continuously with a full, clean path into 3/4 release.
Big framed with a thick lower half at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds. Quiet, relaxed set-up in the box with lower half slightly open. Starts tall and keeps a strong back leg as he gets into low leg lift. Short stride into landing. Hands stay loaded near back shoulder after using a short, quick load to sync up with lower half. Creates above average bat speed with repeatable effort. Rotates exceptionally well and holds posture thru contact. Mostly line-drive contact with more lift when working to his pull-side. Big target at the bag at 1B. Handled all the fielding opportunities he had on this look with deliberate actions and a steady glove hand. Stays under control and lets the ball come to him. Clean footwork when coming off of the bag and handling a double play feed. Should be a reliable defender with a solid catch radius
