PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
ROOD: I have received interest from Bethel University, Central College, Simpson College and Briar Cliff.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
ROOD: I have visited Bethel, Central and Simpson.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
ROOD: I'd like to stay relatively close to home, so mainly schools in Iowa or the surrounding states (Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin). I'm interested in majoring in Exercise Science or Sports Management/Administration.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?
ROOD: My biggest highlight of the season was getting hot at the right time and hitting .454 and reaching base 8 out of 14 times (.571) during the postseason to help lead my team (Mason City) to the 4A State Quarterfinals. That included wins over Marshalltown, #9 Indianola and #8 Ankeny Centennial.

PBR: What are your goals for this year?
ROOD: My goal for this year is to use the momentum from my success in the postseason and a good fall to help lead my team back to the state tournament. Now that I'm a senior I hope to take on a larger leadership role for my team. I would also like to improve my power numbers and get back on the mound after throwing limited innings last season.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
ROOD: I also play basketball and am entering my third year as a varsity captain.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
ROOD: I have a 4.0 GPA and a 31 ACT.
