With our first premier event of 2019 a few weeks away, we wanted to introduce you to players who are registered. Kicking off our look at Underclass Invitational participants is 2022 SS/C Ty Kennedy of Legend High School

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:
Kennedy: I attend legend high school, I am a 2022 grad student. I would describe myself to someone that has never seen me play as a player with fast hands in the box and quick feet in the field and catching, I would also say I have a very solid arm behind the dish and in the field, with a level swing in the box.

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school?
Kennedy: As a freshman, I would love to go to any D1 school, but the 2 schools that I find the most Suiting for me would be TCU or Cal State Fullerton. I would love to attend these schools because of the numerous appearances in the CWS and there great coaching, facility, and all around baseball program.

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?
Kennedy: My best assets as a student-athlete out of the diamond is school. My assets in the diamond consist of a strong pop-time, a strong arm, good footwork in the field, and having a level swing to hit consistent line drives.

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?
Kennedy: The best advice I have ever received is to play for your team. Baseball is not a me sport. You have to play for the team that is in the front of your jersey, not yourself. And no matter what happens you have to sacrifice anything for your team.

PBR: What does your off-season routine look like to prepare for the upcoming season?
Kennedy: My offseason routine consists of lifting 5 days a week, Arm care (bands) every day, 600-800 swings a week indoor, and cardio 3-4 times a week.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?
Kennedy:  During the season I have a superstition of wearing miss matched socks every time we wear long pants, I also have a bracelet that I wear every game

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This Season: This season my main goal is to play varsity baseball for my high school team as a freshman

Two Years: In the next 2 years I hope to be talking to D1 colleges about baseball.

Four Years: In the next 4 years I want to be a committed D1 baseball player.
