Today we catch up with Bailey Egan, a catcher at Mt. Carmel HS, Class of 2015.

"Egan is a 6-foot, 170-pound two-way player. Offensively, he drove the ball to the opposite field and got good extension after contact.  Behind the dish, Egan had a top pop time of 2.53 and was clocked at 67 mph from the crouch.  On the mound, Egan threw three pitches, his best being a 71 mph fastball."

PBR: Have you ever attended a Prep Baseball Report event?  If so what were your impressions of the event?
Egan: Yes, I attended the underclassman event this past January. I was really impressed with the talent both the 2014 and 2015 classes.  It was great to be able to showcase my talent around some great coaches as well

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player?
Egan: I feel my biggest strength as a player is my ability to call a game, defend my position and lead behind the plate.  I’ve also been working on being a more complete hitter.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what are you most excited about this summer?
Egan: I play for the Illinois Redbirds 15 u team. I am really looking forward to this summer to be playing with some great players from all over and playing the best competition the state has to offer.

PBR: What are your goals both individually and for your summer team for the rest of spring and summer?
Egan: My goals individually this spring are to continue to work hard at practice, increase my rbi production and throw out runners at a high percentage. My goals this summer are to work even harder to have the opportunity to play varsity in my sophomore year.

PBR: What is your most memorable moment in baseball so far in your life?
Egan: I’ve had some very memorable moments so far in baseball, but hitting 4 HR in one game in Cooperstown was pretty special. Making the freshman team at Mount Carmel is my most memorable moment to date.

PBR: What are your stats so far in the High School season?
Egan: I have not been keeping track of my stats. I do know I‘ve hit the ball well and defended very well behind the plate. We are 18-4, that’s the stat I am most proud of.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter/pitcher that you have faced?
Egan: The toughest pitcher I’ve faced to date is Darius Day of Simeon. Tough kid…
