Unsigned Senior Games: Team Purple Player Analysis







On Sunday, October 11th, we hosted the annual fall Unsigned Senior Games at Grand Park in Westfield, IN.  


Prior to the game, position players ran through a pro-style workout where they were timed in the 60-yard dash, had their position velocity recorded as well as their exit velocity recorded.  Pitchers had their velocities recorded during the game.

TEAM PURPLE 

Bailey Buescher, LHP, Franklin Central HS - #17

A 6-foot 165 pound left-handed pitcher showcase a short, quick arm action.  Fastball topped at 85 and sat 82-84 in game.  Rhythm is smooth and balance is good throughout delivery.  Breaking ball was 63-66 with 1/7 shape.  He threw both pitches effectively in and around the zone.  Offensively, Bailey has a balanced setup with a short bat path.  Exit velocity was 77mph.  He ran a 6.97 60 yd dash.

Joe Drury, SS, RHP, Center Grove HS - #19 

A 5-foot-11 178 pound infielder showcased soft hands with athletic actions.  Exchange is quick and arm action is short.  Throws across INF topped at 80mph.  Offensively, he has a balanced setup with short stride.  Bat path is level and produce several line drives.  Exit velocity was 84mph.  On the mound, Joe sat 81-84 with the fastball.  Slider was 71-74 with late break.  Change-up was also effective at 77mph with good fade.  

Max Fisher, OF/SS, LaPorte HS - #3 

A 5-foot-8 165 pound utility player showcased a high 3/4 arm slot from the outfield with accurate throws.  Footwork is quick and exchange is clean.  In the infield, he has fluid actions as well.   Outfield throws topped at 77mph.  At the plate, Max has an open setup with long stride.  Tendency to dive.  Bat drags at times but has a short, level path to the ball.  He ran a 7.19 60 yd dash.

Tanner Gaff, 1B/RHP, Whitko HS - #44 

A 6-foot-4 220 pound RHP/1B showcased some pullside pop offensively.  Bat speed is fast and path gets extension.  Balance and lower half work well.  Tanner registered an exit velo of 92mph.  On the mound, Tanner sat 76-81mph with the fastball.  Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with gradual break.  Breaking ball was erratic but was thrown at 68-70mph.  At 1B, hands were above average with fluid footwork and a clean exchange.

Tyler Holloway, C, Bloomington South HS, - #22 

A 6-foot 190 pound catcher showcased good actions behind the plate.  Pop times were between 1.95-2.03.  Transfer and feet were quick with above average arm strength.  At the plate, Tyler hits from a balanced setup and long stride.  Bat path is uphill with extension.  Some pop to his pullside.  Exit velocity registered at 88mph.

Aaron House, RHP, Hamilton Heights HS - #43 

A 6-foot-3 190 pound right-handed pitcher showcased a fastball that sat 82-86 in game.  Location was erratic at times.  Breaking ball had 10/4 shape with sharp break at 74-75mph.  Delivery has some effort and maintains good balance.   

Christian Howard, RHP/3B, Rossville HS - #42 

A 6-foot-2 220 pound right-handed pitcher sat 71-74 with the fastball.  Delivery has smooth rhythm and average balance.  Arm action is long with a H ¾ arm slot.  Breaking ball had 11/5 shape with gradual break at 65-66mph.  Offensively, he hits from a balanced setup and a short bat path.  Produced line drives in batting practice.   Christian ran a 7.97 60 yd dash. 

Adam Lovell, OF/2B, Lafayette Central Catholic - #4 

A 5-foot-8 155 pound utility player ran a 6.84 60 yd dash.  At the plate, he has a balanced setup.  Load is back with a slight armbar.  Lower half is used well and maintains good balance.  Bat speed is average with a short and level bat path.  Exit velocity was 78mph.  Produced several line drives.  In the outfield, he has a long arm action with accurate throws.  Footwork is quick and exchange is clean.  Outfield velocity was 79mph.

Jon McGee, OF/LHP, Hamilton Southeastern HS- #41 

A 6-foot-2 200 pound left-handed hitting outfielder showcases a fast bat with some pop.  Jon hits from a balanced setup with level bat path.  Produced line drives to all fields.  He ran a 6.81 60 yd dash.  From the OF, he has a overtop arm action with above average hands and fluid footwork.  On the mound, Jon’s fastball sat 78-81.  Breaking ball has 2/8 shape with gradual break.   Projects more as an OF/LHH. 

Cameron Meyers, 2B/OF, Franklin County HS - #5

A 5-foot-8 150 pound utility player ran a 7.29 60 yd dash.  He showcased fluid footwork with a short and loose arm action.  Throws topped at 75mph.  At the plate, he has a balanced setup with small leg kick.  Bat path is short.  He produced an exit velocity of 73mph.  

Chase Pearce, RHP, Kokomo HS - #20 

A 6-foot 185 pound right-handed pitcher showcased a high ¾ arm slot with good rhythm.  Fastball sat 77-80 and touched 81.  Breaking ball was effective with 11/5 shape and sharp break.  Breaking pitch sat 67-69.  

Marselo Rodriguez, OF, Warsaw HS - #27 

A 5-foot-10 180 pound outfielder showcased fluid actions with a high 3/r arm slot and throws that topped at 77mph.  At the plate, he hits from a balanced setup and small leg kick.  Bat path is level with extension.  Produced several line drives.  Exit velocity registered at 82mph.  Marselo ran a 7.04 60yd dash.

Austin Smith, RHP, Charlestown HS - #40 

A 6-foot-7 195 pound right-handed pitcher sat 75-79 with the fastball.  He throws from a high ¾ arm slot with good balance and some rhythm.  Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with gradual break at 66-67mph.  Change-up has some fade at 70mph. 

Jarrod Smith, OF, Frankfort HS - #30 

A 6-foot 197 pound outfielder showcased a long and loose arm action.  Throws topped at 83 and were accurate.  Jarrod ran a 7.53 60 yd dash.  At the plate, he hits from a balanced setup.  Bat path is short and level.  Exit velocity registered at 82mph.

Joseph Wells, 1B, South Bend John Adams HS, - #36

A 6-foot-2 208 pound first basemen showcased a balanced setup with a long stride at the plate.  Bat path is long.  Joseph registered an exit velocity of 74mph.  Defensively, he has average hands with a loose arm action.  Throws across INF registered at 68mph.

Brayden White, RHP/C, North Putnam HS - #35 

A 5-foot-10 210 pound catcher showcased a quick arm and registered pop times between 1.86-2.01.  Velocity from behind the plate was 77mph.  At the plate, he has a balanced setup with good balance.  Bat path is level with extension.  Showcased some pullside pop.  On the mound, Brayden sat 79-82 and touched 83 with the FB.  Fastball has slight run and is thrown for strikes.  Breaking ball was 64-66 with gradual break.  Brayden has a drop and drive delivery with some rhythm and short arm action. 

Caleb Wiles, 3B, Rushville HS - #18 

A 5-foot-11 165 pound third baseman ran a 7.4 60 yd dash.  At the plate, he has a balanced setup with a short stride.  Bat path is long and uphill.  Backside has a tendency to collapse.  He produced an exit velo of 72mph.  Defensively, he has a short arm action with average hands.  Footwork is fluid.  Throws across the INF topped at 74mph.

Spenser Wilson, C, Rushville HS  - #21 

A 5-foot-10 185 pound catcher produced pop times between 2.21-2.39.  Feet were quick with average arm strength.  Offensively, he has a tall and open setup.  Bat path is short and uphill.  He produced an exit velocity of 85mph.
