Unsigned Senior Spotlight: 3B Carter Brekke

Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Wisconsin

Sun Prairie HS has a trio of returning starters from last season's State Championship team that are all seniors and who have had a big impact on last year's success. Tony Butler, shortstop and committed to University of Virginia, Zach Fairchild, catcher committed to Bradley University, and Carter Brekke, third baseman who is still uncommitted and today's spotlight of the day.

Brekke is an athletic third baseman who demonstrates soft hands in the field and a strong bat at the plate. He hits from an open stance using a slight leg kick to get to his hitting position. His stroke is short and gets to contact quickly.

Last season his game earned him a first team selection to the tough All-Big 8 conference. All while helping his team win a State Title and getting some national recognition finishing in the top 50 of the Powerade Fab 50 ESPN poll of high school baseball programs around the country.

If Brekke and the rest of his returning senior teammates can replicate half the success they had last season, they should be primed for another state championship run.
