Unsigned Senior Spotlight: 3B/C Zac Wiley

By Chris Fuller
Kentucky Scouting Director

Zac Wiley, 3B/C, Collins HS, 2014

Zac Wiley is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound, athletic prospect who showed well at the PBR Kentucky Top Prospect wileyGames Event in June.

Wiley, who participated as both a catcher and 3B at the event, projects best as an athletic 3B with the potential to hit for power at the next level.  He shows good lateral movement in the infield with soft hands and a strong arm, as evidenced by his 88 mph throws across the infield.

Wiley showed good speed at the event, running a 6.91 60 while also showing the ability to generate bat speed with a 90 mph exit velocity off the tee.

He followed up a good round of batting practice in which he showed some pop and consistently squared up the baseball with a hard single to left-field and a rocket triple to center in the game play portion of the event.  He is currently ranked No. 8 in Kentucky’s 2014 class and No. 96 in the PBR class of 2014 overall rankings.
