Aaron Mitchell, LHP, Tates Creek HS, Class of 2013

Today's spotlight in on unsigned senior Aaron Mitchell, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound LHP from Tates Creek HS in Lexington.  

Mitchell's fastball sits at 80-82 (tops out at 83), with good arm side run.  He shows good balance and gets good extension in his delivery.  He features a 1/7 curveball which shows good 2-plane action.  Mitchell shows good command with the ability to hit spots and effectively change speeds to get hitters out.  It is certainly easy to imagine more velocity to come from him in the future.

Look for Mitchell to play a significant role on the mound in 2013 as the Commodores try to advance out of what will undoubtedly be an extremely tough 43rd District.
