Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Logan Marable, RHP, Chelsea HS, 2013

Logan Marable, RHP, Chelsea HS, 2013

With every player in our Top 10 for the Class of 2013 off the board and committed to a school, there is still plenty of talent left in this class.  Today we take a look at Logan Marable, a righthand pitcher who has been under the radar for a long time.

Marable is an extremely intriguing prospect.  Standing at 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, this wide shouldered pitcher is going to put on more pounds and add velo to his stuff.  As a late bloomer, Marable is starting to come into his own.  He most recently has touched 85 mph, a jump of 3 mph.  Marable has some deception in his delivery and the ball seems to pop late from his hand as he hides it well.  He has a tendency to spin off line and he is learning how to use his body more effectively, thus the jumps in velocity.

In addition to making jumps in velocity, he was a big factor in Chelsea's run towards a state quarterfinal appearance.  He made some critical starts down the stretch for the Bulldogs and will relied upon consistently next year.   At one point during the season, he struck out 12 hitters in a game.

To top it all off Marable is a good student and an active volunteer in his community and church. Marable isn't the flashiest prospect left on the board but he is one to follow.  Although he may not be a polished prospect yet, Marable is a diamond in the rough.
