Unsigned Senior Spotlight: OF Grant Baker
January 8, 2019
On Jan. 13, at The MAX sports facility in McCook, Ill., PBR will be hosting the winter's Unsigned Senior Showcase. You can find registration information within the previous hyperlink, but we’ll use this post today, as well as the posts following this one leading up to this week’s event, to shine the light on a few of the attending prospects who merit specific mentioning.
South Elgin's Grant Baker made it out to a couple events in August and October of last year, the Chicagoland Open and the fall's Unsigned Senior Showcase. The left-handed hitting outfielder has loose hands, hits with rhythm and has bat strength (91 mph exit velocity from a tee). Defensively, Baker has a strong arm that carries from the outfield and has topped at 86 mph in the past.
