Unsigned Senior Spotlight: RHP Nick Ledinsky

Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Illinois

Today’s unsigned senior spotlight is right handed pitcher Nick Ledinsky. Ledinsky is a tall, lanky right handed pitcher from Jacobs HS. This senior has recently showcased himself at our Unsigned Senior Showcase where we ranked him the No. 4 right handed pitcher at the event. Ledinsky is currently ranked No. 138 in the Class of 2013. He has an extremely projectable frame that stands 6-foot-5 and 185-pounds.

Ledinsky is a very projectable, lanky right-handed pitcher. A prototypical pitcher’s body, Ledinsky pitches out of a full windup, operating from a high ¾ arm slot featuring a quick and loose arm. Ledinsky shows feel for three pitches with the ability to command the strike zone.

His fastball sits at 83-85 mph, topping at 86. His fastball shows run and sink with a heavy feel and the ability to command the bottom of the zone. His curveball works on an 11/5 plane, featuring sharp action and thrown for strikes. His changeup shows arm side run and also thrown for strikes at 73-74 mph.

Ledinsky’s easy arm action and effortless delivery projects him well at the next level. He has pitchability and an athletic delivery out of a 6-foot-5 frame which should make him a desirable asset. Ledinsky’s ceiling is unknown at this point as it will be interesting to watch the growth of his game.
