Unsigned Senior Spotlight: SS Johnny Markwiese

Today’s unsigned senior spotlight is on Johnny Markwiese. Markwiese is an athletic shortstop from Whitefish Bay HS. Last season he put together an impressive line hitting .354 with 35 RBI and 24 runs scored.
Markwiese is an athletic 6-foot, 170-pound middle infielder. He hits out of a slightly open stance showing an aggressive swing and flat path to the baseball. His bat path shows a knack for creating good backspin on the baseball allowing him to drive the baseball to the gaps with authority.
Markwiese is a player that just gets things done on the field to help his team win. He shows solid athleticism in the field, with the ability to play almost any position. He displays excellent foot speed and is a threat on the base paths as well.
Markwiese is currently ranked No. 22 in the Class of 2013 and will be looking to make a big impact for the Blue Dukes in 2013.
