Today's spotlight is on unsigned senior Alex Sears.  Sears is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound SS/1B from South Laurel High School in London, KY. 

Sears has a solid frame with strength and shows good lateral movement in the infield.  He has good arm strength and likely projects as a collegiate corner infielder.  

At the plate, Sears, who displays good power potential, hit 4 HR's as a junior last Spring for South Laurel.  He shows an aggressive swing, good bat speed, and barrels up the ball well. 

Look for Sears to provide stability in the Cardinals infield and pop in the middle of the order as South Laurel tries to represent Region 13 at the State Tournament again in 2013.
