Unsigned Senior Spotlight: Zach Williams (Moeller)

Zach Williams, RHP, Moeller

Cincinnati Moeller’s Zach Williams is getting closer to making a decision.  The 6’3 right-handed pitcher says, “I would like to make my decision soon to concentrate on a State Championship for Moeller.”

Williams, who just recently attended PBR’s Unsigned Senior Showcase, discussed the event.

“The Unsigned Senior Showcase was a positive experience. Being in front of the coaches that were able to be present and those who were not able to attend, has helped build interest in my college options."

Zach is currently talking to coaches at Ashland University and Bellarmine University.  A handful of others schools are planning on watching him pitch this spring.

Williams scouting report states:

The 6’3, 185-pound right-handed pitcher has a tall, projectable frame. He uses quick arm speed through an over the top arm slot. He shows command of a heavy 84-86 mph 4-seam fastball. He also displayed a 2-seam fastball with sink that sits at 85-86 mph. His curveball shows late 11/5 break and sits at 69-70 mph. He can continue to develop the effectiveness of this pitch. His changeup is his best out pitch. He throws it near fastball arm speed and it fluctuates between 74-78 mph. The pitch shows effective arm side sink.

With a 3.76 GPA, the righty claims, “Strong academics are very important to me, as well as being able to contribute right away to a winning tradition.”

Last summer, Zach played for the Ohio Force but this summer he will be taking the hill for the Cincinnati Spikes.
