Terre Haute North 5 – Plainfield 1

Terre Haute North advanced in the Plainfield sectional Wednesday evening as they beat their host Plainfield 5-1.  Unsigned Senior Adler Ingalsbe was a big part of this victory as he struck out 10, earning the win.

Plainfield’s one and only run came in the first when the second batter of the game Matt Spaulding (2013) hit a solo home run over the left centerfield wall.  Terre Haute North tied the game up in the third when Lucas Schoffstall (2013) scored on a ground out by Zach Milam (2014).  Terre Haute North took the lead in the fourth when Nickohli Kimmel (2012) singled to score Anthony Rosselli (2012) and Colton Pittman (2013).  They added their final two runs in the sixth on a sac fly and another RBI single by Kimmel.

Terre Haute North’s performance was highlighted on the mound by the impressive work of unsigned senior Adler Ingalsbe.  Ingalsbe showed great poise and control on his way to his 10 strike out performance.  He located his fastball well and kept his breaking ball down, with good sink action.  He used these two pitches to keep hitters off balance and guessing all night liong.  Ingalsbe threw all seven innings for Terre Haute North and only allowed one run on three hits.
