Updated Class of 2014 Rankings for Ohio

By Chris Valentine and the PBR Ohio Staff

With the fall season wrapped up and the start of the fall signing period, PBR Ohio has updated the Class of 2014 rankings.

While the top three remain the spots continue to be held by RHP Cameron Varga (CHCA), RHP/1B Zack Shannon (Anderson HS), and IF Riley Mahan (Moeller HS), there is a change at No. 4.

Michigan recruit RHP Jayce Vancena (Lake HS) has only continued to improve his stock heading into next June's MLB draft. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound has capitalized off of strong performances at the East Coast Pro Showcase and Perfect Game WWBA World Championships in Jupiter.

1B Evan White (Gahanna Lincoln HS) slides to No. 5 followed by a pair of Louisville recruits in RHP Kade McClure (Mentor HS) and LHP Butch Baird (West Holmes HS).

Recent Kent State recruit RHP Zach Willeman (Napoleon HS) jumps into the top 10 at No. 8. This past week, the right-handed pitcher gave his pledge to the Golden Flashes over the likes of Ohio State, Penn State, Toledo, Miami, and Cincinnati.

Finally, a pair of Ohio State recruits round out the top 10 as RHP Jacob Niggemeyer (Olentangy Liberty HS) lands at No. 9 and catcher Jordan McDonough (St. Xavier HS) follows at No. 10.

Beyond the changes in the top 10, more than 25 new players have moved into the top 50 rankings creating several changes as we reach the year's end.
