Updated Power 25
April 21, 2015
By Chris Fuller
Kentucky Scouting Director
This week marks the third update to the Power 25 since we released our Preseason version a little more than a month ago. McCracken County hangs on to the top spot despite losing their first two games of the season to Bartlett (TN), the No. 3 ranked team in Tennessee. The Mustangs currently stand at 16-2 on the season.
North Oldham climbs to the No. 2 spot, the highest they have been ranked this spring. The Mustangs sit at 12-1, and the pitching has been outstanding in allowing two runs or less in 11 of their 13 games.
Lexington Catholic, Southwestern, and St. Xavier round out the top five.
Keep your eye on Highlands. The Bluebirds are up to No. 6 and climbing after a 4-0 week last week that included a 1-0 win over Lexington Catholic. The Highlands pitching staff is as deep as any team in the state.
The biggest riser in this week is LCA. The Eagles checked into the Power 25 for the first time last week at No. 20. After a 4-0 week with wins over Scott County and Tates Creek, LCA moves up to No. 12 with a 14-3 record.
Here is a look at the complete updated Power 25.
