Updated Power 25

By Chris Fuller

For the third consecutive Power 25 update, Tates Creek remains at the top with a 21-4 record.  Over the last week and a half, the Commodores offense has been scoring at will, and they remain the most consistent team in the state.

The rest of the Power 25 continues to see teams slide up and down with several teams making a big jump in the rankings.  Here is a look at the biggest risers.

+ Collins jumps seven spots and checks in at No. 4.  The Titans have won six in a row and 13 of their last 14 to stand at 22-3 on the season.

+ Dixie Heights jumps ten positions to occupy the No. 5 spot.  The Colonels sit at 21-1 on the year with their only loss a 5-4 decision to Anderson (OH) who is currently ranked No. 15 in the lastest PBR Ohio Division I rankings.

+ Covington Catholic now stands at 22-4 on the season, including a 5-3 win last week over perennial Ohio power Cincinnati Moeller, the No. 2 ranked team in PBR Ohio’s latest Division I rankings.  They rise a whopping 14 spots to No. 6.

+ Bullitt East jumps seven spots with a 21-6 record to occupy the No. 9 spot.  It’s the highest the Chargers have been ranked in the Power 25 this year.

+ As for new teams in the Power 25, CAL returns in a big way checking in at No. 15.  The Centurions are red-hot having won seven consecutive games that includes wins over Ballard, Tates Creek, and Beechwood.

+ Lafayette seems to be hitting their stride at the right time of the season and checks back in at No. 18.  The Generals have won 6 of 8 that includes wins over Central Hardin, PRP, Madison Central, and Scott County.

+ Fresh off an 8-3 win over PRP, Butler checks in for the first time this season at No. 24

+ North Bullitt has won five in a row and 9 of 11 and are playing like we thought they would earlier in the season.  They emerge in the Power 25 for the first time since the pre-season rankings at No. 25.
